The historical society has many local businesses to thank for this event's success. The Katahdin Federal Credit Union generously sponsored the event, as did W. S. Emerson in Brewer who made our shirts, and 26 businesses posted clues for the participants to discover as part of the game.  Gifts and prizes totaling over $700 were donated by local businesses, including Moose Print Gallery, Fire and Ash, Dunkin Donuts, Katahdin General, Hair Razor, Yum Bakery, Millinocket Floral, and Vicky Baron.  The following businesses participated in the game by displaying important clues for us: Millinocket Floral, Millinocket Town Office, Millinocket Memorial Library, Our Katahdin, Katahdin General, Millinocket Insurance Agency, Yum Bake Shop, Hannaford, Rideout’s Market, Hair Razor, Farmer’s Insurance Co., Appalachian Trail Café, True Value Hardware, Preble Oil Co., Milli’s Redemption, designlab, Moose Print Gallery, Maine Heritage Timber, Millinocket Variety, Jandreau’s Farmer’s Market, Scootic In, Millinocket Chamber of Commerce, Portland Glass, The Sawmill, and Gracie’s Emporium.
